On January 10, 2019, we launched an Information Campaign with an educational video to further instruct on how to safely and correctly use the front quick-release on strollers manufactured before September 30, 2015. To promote the effectiveness of the Campaign, Britax/BOB Gear is offering certain incentives to eligible consumers who own BOB strollers made before 9/30/15. : U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission News Release (2/4/2019): Campaign was launched as a result of a settlement of litigation with CPSC concerning the potential for the front wheel to detach if the quick release is not properly engaged as instructed.
The label containing the model number, date of manufacture and the serial number can be found on the lower right leg of the frame – behind the right wheel.
Consumers who own a BOB jogging stroller made between January 1, 1997 to September 30, 2015 are eligible for an incentive. Eligibility for incentives requires residency in the US or Canada in addition to verification of the stroller’s unique product information (e.g., serial number, date of manufacture). Limit one incentive per “eligible stroller” (stroller manufactured between January 1, 1997 to September 30, 2015). This offer cannot be combined with any other offer. All incentive selections are final and cannot be returned or exchanged.
To promote the effectiveness of the campaign, certain free parts and discounts are available depending on your response after watching the educational video and the serial number and date of manufacture of your stroller. For model years 1/1/1997 to 9/30/2015 these include discounts on a BOB Flex (Black), BOB Flex Duallie (Black), BOB Rambler (Black), BOB Blaze (Citron), Infant Car Seat Adapter Britax/BOB – Single, Handle Bar Console – Single, and Sun Shield – Single (Fixed Wheel). For model years 1/1/2009 to 9/30/2015 these include a free alternative quick release axle, or thru-bolt axle. These incentives are offered until January 10, 2021.
The two axles are being offered to consumers as an alternative installation option for consumers who self-identify as “concerned” with their ability to safely and correctly operate the front quick release after watching the educational video. The axles are alternative attachment options for strollers made from January 1, 2009 to September 30, 2015.
It is important to engage your quick release correctly because the function of the quick release is to secure your front wheel to your stroller. If the quick release is improperly engaged, your front wheel could detach in use, and you or your child could be injured.
